Fire Control
The
Data Center has an intelligent Analogue Addressable Fire
Alarm system in which all the ionization and photoelectric
detection devices and alarms are given a unique address
associating them to their area of location. These devices
are connected in a loop to the Main control panel, which
checks the status (stable or fault) of each at set intervals.
The panel is integrated with the IBMS using a graphical
user interface to enable the Personnel in charge to have
a pictorial view of all the areas in the facility to facilitate
faster preventive actions. The server area has been divided
into number of zones. If fire strikes, the specific zone
is doused by pumping that particular area with an FM 200
gas based fire-extinguishing system. This is an inert gas
based process which ensures that there is virtually no physical
damage to the servers in the fire extinguishing process.
